Vineyard size: 9 hectares

Located on the Southern edge of the town of Iphofen, the new wine-estate catches your eye due to its Mediterranean architecture. Well-lit, spacious rooms invite you for an overnight stay in one of the guest rooms. You are also welcomed to taste some of the wines. Werner and Irmgard Emmerich cultivate their grapes by using only natural techniques so as to preserve the vineyard for generations to come. The vines grow on late-Triassic gypsum soils on the Southern slopes of the Steigerwald Forest. The classic Iphofen wine locations of Julius Echter Mountain, Kronsberg, and Kalb offer perfect growing conditions for superb wines.

This wine-growing family is driven by the ambition to produce outstanding wines. It all starts with the work in the vineyard. Gnarly, old vines have to be pruned back continuously. It takes a lot of tender loving care to keep the wild growth under control. But the hard work is then rewarded with the resulting bold, aromatic wines and their truly unique character.
